Project narrative

In a smart factory or warehouse, a partition works only when zone layout, equipment clearance and access control are planned on the same floor plan.

The project brief

The reference scenario is an intelligent manufacturing and storage facility where CNC machining cells, robotic workstations and pallet racking share one floor. Management wants machine areas, charging points and finished-goods cages separated, without blocking daylight, sprinkler coverage or supervision cameras.

Because production layouts change faster than building structures, the partition brief treats lines, gates and service openings as re-arrangeable modules rather than fixed walls — the same panels must support this year's cell layout and next year's expansion.

The XTZ response

XTZ organizes the framed welded wire mesh panels, posts, base fixings and gate modules as one coordinated package. Partition runs are set out against the floor plan: column positions, aisle widths, rack clearances and equipment maintenance zones are checked together before panel heights and module widths are fixed.

Sliding and swing gate modules, interlock-ready door panels and pass-through counters are matched to pedestrian and pallet routes. The stainless steel frames and welded mesh keep sightlines open for supervision, lighting and fire protection while giving each zone a controlled boundary.

The planning result

The buyer receives a partition plan that separates production, storage and walkway zones with defined access points — and a component list that can be extended or relocated as the facility evolves.

Before release, the project team can confirm partition heights, mesh format, gate types, fixing details and finish, so installation can proceed around existing equipment without assumptions.

Design coordination

What shapes the final system.

These are the working conditions that should be resolved against the actual drawings and site information.

Zone layout

Partition lines should follow production cells, storage aisles and pedestrian routes rather than one fixed grid.

Access and gates

Gate width, sliding or swing direction and interlock or lock provisions must match equipment and pallet flow.

Height and structure

Panel heights, post spacing and top rails depend on racking heights, machine envelopes and impact requirements.

Finish and environment

Surface finish and fixing details should suit cleaning routines, humidity and the surrounding industrial environment.

Working method

From enquiry to a coordinated release.

Survey the floor

Mark partition runs, gate positions, column lines and floor fixing points against the equipment layout.

Set the module grid

Coordinate panel widths, post centres, corners and transitions around machines and racking.

Install and align

Fix bases, align posts, hang panels and fit gates, locks and accessories.

Hand over the zone

Check keys, signage, safety devices and spare components before the area goes into service.

Reference workflow only. Final responsibilities, engineering input and documentation follow the confirmed project scope.

What to confirm before production.

  1. Zone boundaries and aisle clearances
  2. Gate types, clear openings and interlocks
  3. Partition height and post fixing details
  4. Finish, cleaning and environment conditions
